Bacteria tend to build on our teeth over time. The longer they are left, the harder they become, making them nearly impossible to remove with regular brushing, flossing and/or mouthwash use. If left in place for a prolonged period of time, they can cause gum disease resulting in gum inflammation, bone loss, and early loss of teeth.
Your dental hygiene appointment will be performed by a licensed hygienist or dentist. It will entail removing plaque and tartar build-up from around your teeth and under your gum line.
